22nd April 2025, London | Copenhagen: Wood Thilsted has announced that Lars Lønstrup Nicolaisen will join the company as Head of Engineering and Project Delivery to lead engineering and delivery functions globally.
Lars brings immense experience to Wood Thilsted with a 30 year career in the sector in many senior leadership roles. He joins from Ørsted where he served as Director, Head of Structural Engineering. Previously, Lars served in senior roles at Vattenfall, COWI and Rambøll. Lars will be based in Copenhagen but will spend time in Wood Thilsted’s offices around the globe including London.
This appointment comes at an exciting time for the international offshore wind sector. In the UK, the Government aims to deliver 43-50GW of offshore wind on the system by 2030. Plans are underway for a massive rollout of wind technology in Asia Pacific (APAC) – in Australia, Japan, Korea and Taiwan – where different solutions will need to be designed and built to serve the needs of rapidly-growing populations.
