HOW WOOD THILSTED IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE

REDUCTION THROUGH DESIGN

We minimise the amount of steel used in our foundation designs, saving both cost and embodied carbon emissions. We are working towards providing all of our clients with transparent data on the Energy Return on Energy Invested (EROEI) of our designs to allow for better reporting and carbon-positive decision making.

NATURE INCLUSIVE

We understand that carbon reduction alone is not the only element of sustainable development. We are leading a Joint Industry Project (JIP) working to to optimise and accelerate the roll-out of nature-inclusive design elements within new offshore wind farm developments. We hope that all new offshore windfarms can one day become havens of biodiversity, and we’re taking practical steps to make that happen.

SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS

While we reduce the embodied carbon of our designs, we strive to reflect this in our own practices. We monitor our greenhouse gas emissions as a business and we are in the process of developing effective plans for carbon reduction to align with science-based Net Zero targets.
