Vaughan is a lead primary steel engineer with a speciality in finite element analysis and connection design, particularly bolted flange connections. He has worked in the offshore engineering industry for more than a decade.

Vaughan has a successful track record with Wood Thilsted in pushing the boundaries for connection design of XXL foundations through innovating on long-accepted designs and working closely with certifiers to help define the gold standard analysis approach.

He has also developed industry-leading in-house analysis tools and has helped grow the company-wide expertise in nonlinear finite element analysis
